Weeks 11-20 Ninja Skill Books now live and other updates

Hi Ninja Teachers!

I’m delighted to share with you that the Ninja Skill Books for weeks 11-20 are now ready for download on the Skill Books page on the website! This should give you plenty of time to get them photocopied ready for weeks 11-20 of the academic year after October half term.
The answers Powerpoint has also been updated with weeks 11-20 answers. You will need to download the latest version from the Skill Books page too.
How is Ninjas going for you? At Wyvern College, we’ve been sampling the scores of each class once per week and we’re pleased that every class is improving (setted classes). We’re doing 4 sessions per week with all classes for weeks 1-10 and then will review whether to drop some classes to two sessions per week beyond week 11. Here are our results so far:

Are you noticing similar gains with your own classes? Let us know. To build retention over time, most topics in the Ninja Skill Books are on a 3 week rotation and so week 1 topics were revisited again in week 4 etc.
Our students are loving levelling up through the belts, putting the fantastic Ninja Stickers on their exercise books as they go. We’re now offering a half-pack (enough for 35 students) if you are running Ninjas with just one class.

At the end of each half term we recommend you award 2 students in each class (1 most improved, 1 highest attaining) “Grand Master” status. You can download free certificates from the Ninjas site here.

If you want to make more of a fuss of your Grand Masters, visit our Online Shop for some fantastic prizes including badges, praise postcards, pencils, rulers etc. The badges in particular look great on students’ blazers!

If you’d like to catch up and hear the 3 year story that led to the creation of Numeracy Ninjas, I’m giving a talk at the Optimus English & Maths Conference on 22nd October. Check out the brochure for more details. Also, I’ll be delivering a workshop about Ninjas and more at the LIME (Leaders Improving Maths Education) event on 10th December. See http://www.limecpd.co.uk for more details.
Thanks for your continued support of Numeracy Ninjas. We’ve loved hearing from so many people with suggestions for improvements and how much their students are loving and making progress with Ninjas. We’ve passed 550 schools using it now worldwide! Check out these latest maps of schools using Ninjas:
